The First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, passed away on Thursday September 26, after a brief illness.
An official statement titled ‘Unexpected Sunset’ signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, conveyed that Mrs Patience Eno peacefully passed away at a hospital on Thursday, surrounded by her family.
Ememobong expressed the deep sorrow felt by the first family and the government of Akwa Ibom State, acknowledging that the family has submitted to God’s will during this challenging time.
The family, while appreciative of the support received, requested privacy as they mourn the loss of a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
Governor Umo Eno was quoted in the statement reaffirming his dedication to serving Akwa Ibom State despite the significant personal loss.
The statement added, “His Excellency expressed gratitude to all those who have supported the family throughout this difficult period. “
“As the state mourns the loss of its First Lady, the family will communicate further details about the burial arrangements in due course.
“The entire state has been asked to keep the governor and his family in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this painful time,” the statement concluded.
Remembered for her quiet strength, charitable heart, and unwavering faith, the late Mrs. Eno leaves a legacy of service and compassion, forever remaining in the hearts of the people of Akwa Ibom and beyond.
