Renowned Delta State traditional ruler, the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi Joseph Edozien, has passed on, reports say.
Edozien, the 13th Asagba of Asaba in South-south state of Nigeria died on Wednesday amidst activities to mark his 100th birthday celebration.
Born on July 28, 1925 to the noble Edozien family, they were the direct descendants of Nnebisi the founder of Asaba.
His Royal Majesty was elected Chairman, Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers in 1997. Former Nigerian President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo decorated him with the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) honour in 2003.
The Asagba was also the Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
