Weeks after meeting with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Chijioke Edeoga has officially rejoined the party.
Edeoga had exited the PDP following its primary election and defected to the Labour Party (LP), where he mounted a formidable challenge against the PDP’s then-candidate and now Governor, Peter Mbah.
However, the PDP state chairman, Hon. Martin Chukwunweike, visited Edeoga at his Enugu residence, urging him to return to what he described as his political family—the PDP.

Before this visit, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state had also courted Edeoga, attempting to bring him into their fold.
Signs of his decision to return to the PDP became more evident last week when he consulted LP stakeholders in his Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, presenting both political options to them. The stakeholders expressed a stronger preference for his return to the PDP.
On Monday, Edeoga arrived at the PDP secretariat in Enugu, describing his comeback as a “homecoming.”
