BREAKING: Kano Ward Suspends APC National Chairman Ganduje

Executives of the ruling All Progress Congress (APC) in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State have suspended former governor of Kano state and APC national chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over allegations corruption filed against him.

The branch legal advisor Malama Haladu Gwanjo Ganduje stated this at a press briefing in Kano..

APC Secretary in Kano, Zakari Sarina reacted to the suspension, stating that “We will be issuing a formal statement on this very soon.”

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had set up two panels to probe corruption and political violence between 2015 and 2023 when Ganduje governed the state.

The Kano High Court has slated April 17, 2024, for the arraignment of Ganduje, his wife, and six others before Justice Usman Na’aba of State High Court number four.

Their arraignment is based on eight-count charges bothering on diversion and misappropriation of funds, dollar bribery allegation
that includes alleged $413,000 and N1.38billion bribery, among others.

News Central gathered that other respondents in the suit are Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Hafsat Umar, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Abubakar Bawuro, Lesage General Enterprises, Lamash Properties Ltd, and Safari Textiles Ltd.

The Kano State Government said it has assembled 15 witnesses to appear before the Court on the criminal suit filed against the 8 respondents.

The State Attorney General, Haruna Isah Dederi stated that the matter has been filed and all parties involved will be served accordingly.

According to the Commissioner of Justice: “It is very true. We have filed the case and it’s going to hold on the 17th of April, 2024. What I cannot confirm is whether he is served or not but he will definitely be served.

“What he (Ganduje) doesn’t understand is that you cannot run away from the evil day, it will definitely come to you and this will even serve as a deterrence to all of us that are also in government now. He was saying that we can’t prosecute him forgetting that the offense also falls under the category of the state offenses. It’s not totally a Federal affair and we have even appealed to Justice Liman ruling on that.”
