    Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji Dies Aged 93

    The death has been announced, of Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji.

    The monarch, who died at age 93, passed away today,January, 2, 2022 at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo state.

    He was crowned the 41st Olubadan of Ibadan following his coronation on March 4, 2016.

    Oba Adetunji was a successful businessman, his death comes twenty two days after the demise of another paramount ruler in the state, Soun of Ogbomoso.

    Born on August 26, 1928 to the family of Raji Olayiwola and Suwebat Amope Adetunji in the Alusekere compound, Popoyemoja, Ibadan, he was the eldest of his father’s 17 children.

    His mother was from the Balogun family of Apomu while his father was a renowned Ibadan indigene.
