One of the kidnapped victims at the Igueben train station, in Edo state, has been rescued by security agencies searching the area.
While the police confirmed they had rescued a woman, the identity of the woman and the details of how she gained her freedom remain unclear.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Police Command, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed in a message: “A yes a woman has been rescued making it a total of seven persons that have been rescued so far.”
Hoodlums who claimed responsibility for the kidnap of the train passengers on Saturday have demanded N620million ransom for their release.
