Three passengers who were on board a Cessna 182 plane with the registration number 5H-FZS, operated by the Frankfurt Zoological Society out of the Matambwe airfield in the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania, have been confirmed dead by the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA).
The unfortunate plane, which crashed soon after takeoff from the airstrip, was carrying four persons. The pilot is one of those that died.
The accident’s origin is still a mystery. However, a team for the investigation has been sent to the accident site.
Recall, in November 2022, at least 19 people died after a flight carrying 43 people crashed into Lake Victoria while attempting to reach a nearby airport in Tanzania.
Flight PW494, which departed from the commercial capital Dar es Salaam, crashed into the lake as it was approaching the lakeside city of Bukoba, according to Precision Air.
The cause was not immediately clear, but the state broadcaster said the incident took place amid storms and heavy rains.
