President Bola Tinubu’s long-anticipated cabinet reshuffle has commenced with the dissolution of the Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of Sports Development.
Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, made the announcement on Wednesday.
He stated, “A new Ministry of Regional Development will now oversee all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and North East Development Commission.”
Additionally, the National Sports Commission will assume the responsibilities of the former Ministry of Sports.
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy.
