Popular Nigerian Afrobeats singer Burna Boy has postponed his highly anticipated live concert, originally scheduled for this weekend at Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, to a new date on December 16. The announcement of the concert’s postponement was made by the event’s ticketing agency, Ticket Pro.
Speaking on the development in a statement by his management on Tuesday, September 20, the Nigerian music sensation said the performance was called off following the promoters’ inability to meet their obligations.
While apologising to his fans, the management assured that all tickets would be refunded.
He said: “Sadly, it is with great regret that we must inform you that despite my team’s effort, the show on September 23rd, in Johannesburg will be cancelled over the inability of the promoters to fulfill their contractual, production, financial and technical obligations.
“Production vendors have still not been paid and as such, it is evident at this point that the agreed production standard needed for this venue size can’t be achieved.
“Deepest apologies to all fans, all ticketing companies must ensure that it is refunded in full. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.”
