Two Grammy nominated African superstars have been featured on Jay-Z’s year-end playlist of favourite songs.
Burna Boy made Jay-Z’s list with his Grammy nominated song ‘Last Last’ which samples Toni Braxton’s 2000 single “He Wasn’t Man Enough”.
Another Nigerian artist Tems made an appearance for her contribution on Future’s “Wait For U” which also features Drake.
The Afrobeats musicians are among other global stars featured on the playlist including 21 Savage, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Lil Baby, Jay-Z’s wife Beyoncé and more. Late Migos member Takeoff also made the mix for “Hotel Lobby”, his track with his uncle and bandmate Quavo.
The 41-track mix dubbed “JAY-Z’s Year End Picks 2022” showcases diverse genres over the last 11 months, with a dominance of Hip Hop tunes alongside Afrobeats, R&B, Reggaeton, pop and more.
