The Republic of Burundi and Saudi Arabia on Sunday signed two agreements on cooperation between their two countries.
The agreements were signed by the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi and Burundian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation Albert Shingiro
The agreements aim to enhance cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Burundi to facilitate the recruitment of Burundi workers in professions legally defined in the Kingdom, protect the rights of both employers and workers, organize the contractual relationship between them.
This will help to activate several related procedures, including the application of a mutually acceptable process for hiring the Burundian domestic workers to work in the Kingdom per laws, rules and regulations in force.
Speaking on the occasion, Al-Rajhi stated that these agreements come within the ministry’s plans to build complementary relations and strategic partnerships at the international level with various ministries and sectors with services and common areas, in order to expand the horizons of international cooperation and achieve national goals in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials of the two countries and they include Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for the Labor Sector Dr Abdullah Abuthunain, Deputy Minister for Labor Affairs Abdul Majeed Al-Rashoodi, Deputy Minister for International Affairs Dr Adnan Al-Naim, Burundi’s Assistant Minister of Labor and Employment Adolphe Paneko, and Ambassador of Burundi to the Kingdom Jacques Yacoub Nayo.
