The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have announced their 26-man squad for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Though they didn’t qualify for the last World Cup in Russia, the former African champions will play in their eighth World Cup later this year.
They were minutes away from having their World Cup hopes dashed when they faced Algeria in a play-off earlier this year. However, thanks to Karl Toko Ekambi’s thrilling last-minute winner, they secured a place in Qatar on away goals.
Their best run in the competition was a quarterfinal finish in 1990, when they grabbed the hearts of fans all around the world with their style of play. They will face a difficult assignment to improve on that result this time, as they have been placed in a tough group with favourites Brazil, Serbia, and Switzerland.
They do, however, have plenty of experience in their team which has been announced and they will be looking to surprise everyone in Qatar
