Cape Verde President Neves in Angola For Four-day State Visit (News Central TV)

The President of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves, arrived on Sunday in Luanda, for a four-day State visit to Angola, with the aim of strengthening friendship and co-operation relations between the two countries.

In his delegation are representatives of the ruling Movement for Democracy (MpD) party, members of the main opposition African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV) and members of the Chambers of Commerce.

On his arrival in Luanda, the Cape Verdean statesman was received at the Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport by Angolan Foreign Minister, Teté António, amongst others.

The programme of the visit includes official talks between delegations from both countries, at the Presidential Palace in Cidade Alta, and an extraordinary plenary session of the National Assembly, during which the Cape Verdean head of state will make a speech.

Neves is expected at the Memorial of António Agostinho Neto, to deposit a wreath of flowers in honour of the first President of Angola.

Before returning to his country, Neves will meet the Cape Verdean community living in Angola and visit the Agostinho Neto University Campus and the National School of Administration and Public Policies in Luanda.
