Fans of the late South African rapper AKA are demanding an update on his death investigation. The hashtag #JUSTICEFORAKA has been trending all weekend on South Africa’s Twitter as fans and celebrities have expressed their disappointment with no significant update about any progress in the case.

Since his death, the hashtag has become a rallying cry for the government and police officials to prioritise his case and make sure that his killers are promptly brought to justice.

South African hiphop artist, L Tido tweeted “It’s been a month and a half still no developments and progress on this case, This happened right next to the police station, on a busy road with cameras. Our justice system keeps on failing us!!!! This is ridiculous #JusticeForAKA.”

Besides the 38-year-old star, South African- Mozambican singer Wanda Baloyi also tweeted, “It really baffles me how there is no progress towards the findings of the killers. I mean they pretty much weren’t disguised. What exactly is the delay? I don’t understand. So killing is easy, you just kill and walk away?”

Several messages have continued to pour out to the late rappers family, The Tembes as others demand answers from law enforcement. At this time there is still no response from the police and no suspects have been publicly charged.

AKA, who was a leading name in South Africa’s Music scene was shot along with his friend, outside a restaurant along Durban’s popular night spot Florida Road on February 10. The late 35-year-old was laid to rest on the 18th of February in a private ceremony in Johannesburg, South Africa.
