Faustin-Archange Touadera, the president of the Central African Republic (CAR), arrived in Oyo, 400 kilometres north of Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of the Congo, on Sunday morning.
President Touadera, who is in the country on business, was greeted by Raymond Zephiryn Mboulou, the interior minister of the Republic of the Congo, at the Ollombo airport, which is 10 kilometres from Oyo, the birthplace of his Congolese counterpart Denis Sassou Nguesso.
He will discuss collaboration between the Central African Republic and Congo, both of which are members of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), with the president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo during his visit.
The visit of President Touadera coincides with that of President William Ruto of Kenya, who was welcomed in Oyo on Saturday afternoon by President Touadera.
The three presidents got together to talk about issues including climate change, security, and African growth. On Sunday, President Ruto and his group departed Oyo for Nairobi, Kenya.
