Nigerian singer and activist Charles Oputa, known as Charly Boy, has declared his support for U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.
Charly Boy stated he would divorce his wife of 47 years if Harris, endorsed by President Joe Biden, fails to win the upcoming presidential election.
Biden recently stepped down as the Democratic Party candidate, endorsing Harris as the new candidate. Charly Boy, reacting on his X handle, expressed his desire for America to have its first Black female president after Barack Obama, the first Black male president.
He stressed his commitment to this outcome by vowing to divorce his wife if Harris, whom he referred to as his “crush,” doesn’t win.
Despite Biden’s endorsement, Harris has yet to be officially nominated as the Democratic Party’s candidate. She has secured over a quarter of the delegates needed for the Democratic Presidential nomination so far.
