The Chinese embassy in Israel has advised its citizens to depart from the country promptly due to the escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group in Lebanon.
The embassy noted the highly volatile and unpredictable security situation in Israel and urged Chinese citizens to either return home or relocate to safer areas as soon as possible.
Despite international appeals for restraint, Israel and Hezbollah have both threatened to intensify their cross-border assaults.
A recent Israeli airstrike in a densely populated Hezbollah stronghold in southern Beirut resulted in the death of Ibrahim Aqil, the head of Hezbollah’s elite Redwan Force. This strike followed a series of coordinated explosions of communication devices across Lebanon, which were attributed to Israel and led to numerous casualties.
Last month, China similarly advised its citizens in Lebanon to leave after an Israeli strike killed a senior Palestinian militant in the country.
