Tonto Dikeh’s ex-husband Churchill Olakunle is suing the popular Nigeria actress and claiming damages of 500 million Naira over defamatory and malicious statements made in her infamous 2019 YouTube video.
In a 2019 tell-all YouTube video series titled ‘The Evidence’, Dikeh accused Churchill of being a ritualist and a fraudster.
In reaction, Churchill has sought a legal regress against his former wife in a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
According to a report by PREMIUM TIMES, the court summoned Tonto warning that should she fail to appear in court 14 days from December 10, 2019, it may proceed therein with judgment even in the absence of the defendant (Tonto).
Churchill claims in the lawsuit that the series of malicious and fallacious accusations by Tonto Dikeh were specifically done to tarnish his image and political ambitions.
Tonto Dikeh and Churchill wedded in a highly publicized glamorous traditional ceremony on August 29, 2015, in Rumukwuta, Rivers State.
Just two years later, Tonto confirmed that the marriage wasn’t going through the best of times.
This was later confirmed in June 2017, when Tonto’s dad was said to have returned her bride price to his ex-son-in-law.
