Nigerian superstar, Chukwuka Ekweani better known as Ckay has just hit another milestone on the music streaming platform, Spotify with his second EP, ‘Ckay the First’. The project has become the highest-streamed project by an African act in Spotify history with over 661 million streams.
The 8-tracked EP which housed the mega hit record ‘Love Nwantiti’ dropped on August 30, 2019 and has amassed more streams than Burna Boy’s ‘African Giant’ which follows closely after with 660.9 million streams.
The self-produced project housed hit producer Tempoe and guest appearances from DJ Lambo, BOJ, Blaqbonez, and Barry Jhay. Recall that CKay was the first African to reach one billion streams on Spotify. Just a few days ago, the 27-year-old music star shut down the CHAN Finals with over 40,000 fans singing hit single, ‘Love Nwantiti’, off the project.
That global smash hit is platinum in the United States, Canada, Poland, UK and Italy. The success of the ‘Ckay the First’ project led to the release of his debut album, ‘Sad Romance’.
