A cloud-based healthcare system named CloudClinic has been introduced by CloudClinic Limited (CCL), a provider of digital healthcare services, to enable virtual consultations between patients and qualified medical professionals.
Anyone can use the platform to get access to low-cost healthcare while at home, work, or on the go using a device with an internet connection.
“We are delighted to introduce CloudClinic, a suite of mobile platform, web and API services specially designed to seamlessly connect healthcare seekers in Nigeria to licensed healthcare services providers such as doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and medical laboratories,” said Ifeanyi Aneke, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cloud Clinic Limited, at the formal unveiling of the product in Lagos.
Aneke claimed that CloudClinic was driven by a fierce desire to place high-calibre, reasonably priced healthcare at the ‘doorstep’ of every Nigerian.
“We believe that healthcare should be convenient and accessible to every Nigerian. This belief birthed the development of our cloud-based healthcare platform,” he said.
CloudClinic works with more than a thousand accredited medical laboratories, pharmacies, and hospitals throughout Nigeria to expand access to healthcare while enhancing convenience.
According to Aneke, CloudClinic is also democratising access to healthcare through its native language function, which pairs patients and doctors according to their preferred native tongues, facilitating clear and effective communication.
He went on to say that the platform offers patients a complete and first-rate healthcare experience by ensuring rigorous adherence to ideal health standards.
“CloudClinic offers an extensive feature that gives patients a wide range of diagnostic, pharmaceutical, and hospital options, relying on our partnership with licensed and recognized medical laboratories and pharmacies while ensuring the confidentiality of all medical records,” Aneke said.
Dr. Amy Ojiakor, Clinical Director of Cloud Clinic Limited, also spoke at the opening and emphasised that Nigeria has a doctor-to-patient ratio of 1 to 10,000.
The average Nigerian must travel a significant distance to a hospital and wait in line for hours to see a doctor, she said, adding that as a result of this obstacle, there are frequently reported cases of late arrival, which raises the death rate in Nigerian hospitals.
“Through CloudClinic, a doctor can request an investigation or prescribe a drug for the patient. The solution also makes it possible for a patient to quickly locate a Medical Laboratory Pharmacy and Hospital nearest to him or her,” she said.
