The Nigerian Government is offering business opportunities for investments in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered vehicles.
Ambassador Nicholas Agbo Ella, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Petroleum, discussed the substantial investment prospects in the natural gas sector during a meeting with officials from a Chinese company, Wen Advisor.
John Ameh, his media aide, elaborated that the government’s emphasis on gas infrastructure development aligns with efforts towards adopting cleaner energy for environmental preservation.
Kamoru Busari, the Director of the Upstream Department at the ministry, echoed the government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for investment growth during the discussion.
Previously, Haikuo Weng, the Managing Director of Wen Advisor, expressed his team’s interest in exploring investment opportunities in the CNG-powered vehicles project in Nigeria. He highlighted the importance of determining the current use of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) or CNG by local buses in Nigeria to develop gas pump stations.
In a collaborative letter, Weng pledged to introduce CNG buses at competitive prices to support Nigeria’s energy transition efforts in the transportation sector. He conveyed his intention to assess the country’s potential for establishing natural gas refuelling stations during his visit.
