As part of his ongoing operational tour in Plateau State, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has called on troops of the 3 Division Nigerian Army to intensify their operations against insurgents and criminals within their area of responsibility.

General Oluyede made this charge during his maiden operational visit to the Division’s Headquarters at Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

Commending the troops for their resilience and dedication in tackling the security challenges facing Plateau State and Nigeria at large, the COAS acknowledged their vital role in maintaining peace and enabling socio-economic progress.

“The nation counts on your sacrifices and selflessness to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for socio-economic advancement,” General Oluyede stated. He further assured them that the Federal Government is doing all it can to enhance their welfare and well-being.

During the visit, the COAS commissioned the newly constructed Headquarters for the 23 Support Engineers and the 13 Field Engineers Regiments. He also inaugurated two 30-family residential blocks aimed at easing accommodation challenges within the cantonment and boosting morale among personnel.

General Oluyede reaffirmed his commitment to continued interventions to further improve the welfare and working conditions of Nigerian Army personnel.

Earlier, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, briefed the COAS on the Division’s current operational activities. He outlined the successes, ongoing challenges, and strategic projections of both the Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN.

In response, General Oluyede pledged his unwavering support to the Division in its mission to secure Plateau State and neighbouring regions.
