Celebrity Crossdresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has been released from Kirikiri Correctional Centre after serving a six-month sentence for abusing the naira.

The flamboyant social media personality was seen leaving the facility on Monday morning in a luxury car, accompanied by two friends. A video of the event has since gone viral.

Bobrisky’s imprisonment began on April 12, following a sentencing by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos High Court.

After being found guilty of misusing the naira by spraying it at parties, Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison without the option of paying a fine.

In a post-release interview with GoldMyneTV, Bobrisky urged people to follow the rules and obey the law, warning them that if they engaged in the same behaviour, they could end up in prison.

“It’s not just about killing or any criminal activity, something light like this can take you there,” he said.

He expressed gratitude for his friends who supported him during his time in prison.

“I’m only focusing on my friends who were there for me, and I’m grateful. I’m not thinking about any other person,” he added.
