A high court in Benue state has granted an interim order restraining Iyorchia Ayu from acting as the national chairman of Nigeria’s opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The ruling was made on Monday by the presiding judge, W.I Kpochi, in response to a motion ex parte marked MHC/633/2023, filed by Conrad Terhide Utaan.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike who is Ayu’s political rival in the PDP said on Monday, that he is pleased with the decision of the Benue State ward excoon Ayu.
“I am not from Benue State, but I am happy, and now that Benue State has done it, we would now come out and say we are in support of it,” he said.
