The legal battle between world’s richest man, Elon Musk and Twitter Inc seems to be getting more intense, as a date has been set for trial to commence.

Although Musk’s team made attempts delay the trial, a Delaware judge ruled against it, fixing October 2022 as official trial date between him and Twitter.

Musk’s attempt to have the trial extended was rejected on grounds that any further delay would “threaten irreparable harm to the case itself.” Also, it would further place Twitter in a more difficult financial situation, given that their market value dropped drastically after Musk suddenly backed out on the deal.

Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick of the Court of Chancery in Delaware on Tuesday, maintained that no further delay would be considered on the case.

“The reality is delay threatens irreparable harm to the sellers,” she said, in support of Twitter.

McCormickhe stated that the October trial will take five days, and called on involved parties to prepare ahead of time.

William Savitt, a lawyer for Twitter, accused Musk of intentionally trying to run the company down through his actions.

“It’s attempted sabotage. He’s doing his best to run Twitter down,” he said.
