Dangote Refinery Refutes Claims of N600 per Litre Petrol Pricing

Dangote Refinery Eyes NGX Listing by March 2025

Dangote Refinery has rebutted claims that the company has set its petrol price.
According to a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, the company stated that reports of fuel being priced at N600 per litre are inaccurate.

“Our attention has been drawn to headlines announcing ‘Marketers Project N600/litre for Dangote Petrol’.
“We would like to clarify that the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is not our business partner yet.
“We have never discussed the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) with them, and they have no mandate or authority to speak for us, either for good or with hidden transcripts.
“We urge the public to desist from such speculative announcements.
“We have our official channels through which we make our views known to our stakeholders.”

Dangote Refinery and certain government-owned organisations have been in disagreement over providing crude oil to the recently built refinery, which has the potential to stop the importation of fuel into the country.

Recently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appeared to have intervened by instructing the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, to sell crude oil to the refinery using the local currency.
