Dangote Refinery Test Results Expected Monday

Dangote Refinery Test Results Expected Monday

According to George Ene-Ita, the Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority Spokesman, a fresh report on diesel sulfur content from Dangote Refinery will be released on Monday.

He said this on Sunday while reacting to Aliko Dangote’s rejection of the claim by NMDPRA CEO, Farouk Ahmed that petroleum products from the Refinery were inferior to imported ones.
According to Ene-Ita, about 15 engineers and scientists from the NMDPRA are in the Dangote refinery, and reports of their findings will be released soon.

The NMDPRA claims to have done its job and refuses to engage in a ‘media fight’ with Dangote Refinery.

Last week, Ahmed said that the Dangote Refinery has yet to receive its operating license and that the quality of its petroleum products is inferior.

“Dangote Refinery, as well as some modular refineries like Watersmith Refinery and Aradel Refinery, are producing between 650 and 1,200 PPM. Therefore, in terms of quality, their products are inferior to imported ones,” he stated.

Dangote has dismissed the statement and called for an independent test on its refinery’s products.

“The imported one they are encouraging is the spec in test, but in certain cases, when you check (independently), different results will show. Because those people who have the lab have been told what to write”, Dangote said while taking Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbass and other ranking lawmakers on a tour of the Dangote Refinery at the weekend.
