Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has announced it will refund marketers N65 per litre who bought Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, at rates exceeding the previously stated prices so Nigerians can enjoy lower fuel costs.

This decision comes after the refinery’s recent decrease in its ex-depot price from N890 per litre to N825 per litre.

The information was shared in a statement from Dangote Refinery, indicating that the refund will apply to any of its major partners – AP (Ardova Plc), Heyden, or MRS – across Nigeria.

“Dangote refinery, in its effort to ensure good quality and affordable fuel for Nigerians, is working with its partners to make this price accessible. Consumers who purchase fuel above the advertised rate at any of its key partners – Ardova Plc (AP), Heyden, or MRS – anywhere in Nigeria are encouraged to report to Dangote refinery with their receipts for a full refund of the excess amount.” the statement said.

According to the refinery, this initiative is part of its continuous efforts to ensure that Nigerians reap the benefits of the price drop and aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which is designed to boost the economy.

The refinery clarified that it would reimburse N65 per litre for more than 200,000 metric tonnes of PMS acquired by marketers at the previous gantry price of N890 per litre before the updated rate of N825 per litre.

Dangote refinery stressed that with the adjusted gantry price of N825 per litre, it anticipates that no Nigerian will pay above N900 per litre for PMS, irrespective of their location or petrol station.
