Nigerian music star, Davido is on the first Qatar 2022 World Cup Sound track alongside American rising star, Trinidad Cardona and Qatari singer, Aisha.
The theme song titled “Hayya Hayya (Better Together) aims to bring the world’s diversities together with a fusion of reggae, R & B and the Arabian rendition and has Davido adding a touch of Afrobeats to it.
Davido made the announcement on his social media handles and announced the importance of the latest feat to him.
FIFA’s Chief Commercial officer, Kay Madati said “By bringing together voices from the Americas, Africa and the Middle East, this song symbolises how music – and football – can unite the world,”
Davido in his comments on the soundtrack produced by RedOne and released by Def Jam Recordings said;
“I’ve grown up all over the world. And the more I travelled, the more I realised that we are all one, one people, one world. So, when this came to me, I jumped on it. To be a part of this event that brings together the whole world, and to be a part of this song? ‘We are better together’ went right to my heart. Beautiful, man, beautiful. How could I say no?”
The soundtrack is the first in the series of many more to come according to FIFA.
