Reports say Manchester United has offered Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt a five-year contract.
According to Sky Germany, there is a strong mutual interest in the potential move, with the player showing keenness to join Manchester United.
United’s interest in De Ligt has led to initial talks with Bayern, a promising sign that a potential deal could be on the horizon. Erik ten Hag, who has worked with Matthijs at Ajax, wants him to be part of his squad at Old Trafford next season.
De Ligt is valued at €50m (£42.4m) including add-ons.
United also maintains interest in Jarrad Branthwaite but will only return for the player if Everton’s asking price reduces.
