Nigeria’s Senate has begun tracking a fifty billion naira shortfall in releases made to the Nigerian Army.
The Senate Committee on Army made this known during a meeting with representatives from the Ministry of finance following a letter written to the committee by the Army.
Though the Ministry representatives deny the claims, lawmakers say there is a need to get to the root of the matter as any shortfall in funds will affect the ongoing war against terrorism.
The committee summoned the Minister of Finance Minister, Chief of Army Staff, and other relevant stakeholders to appear before it on or before Tuesday next week
