Ousmane Dembele netted a stunning hat-trick for the second time in four days as Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Brest 5-2 on Saturday, in a prelude to their upcoming Champions League clash.
Dembele followed up his remarkable three-goal performance in Wednesday’s 4-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart, a result that secured PSG’s spot in the knockout rounds of Europe’s elite competition. The France winger opened the scoring in the first half before adding two more after Romain Del Castillo had briefly equalised for Brest.
Ludovic Ajorque pulled one back for the home side, setting up a tense finish. However, substitute Goncalo Ramos sealed the victory for PSG with two late goals.
Under Luis Enrique, PSG remain unbeaten domestically this season and are now 13 points clear at the top of Ligue 1. Marseille, who sit second, can reduce the gap when they face Lyon on Sunday, but PSG are on track to claim their 11th French league title in the last 13 years.

Dembele’s impressive form continued as he thrived in a central attacking role, scoring 14 goals in his last 9 matches across all competitions, and sitting at the top of the Ligue 1 scoring charts with 14 goals for the season.
With PSG’s continued dominance in domestic football, Brest will be dreading the prospect of facing Luis Enrique’s side again in the Champions League. The two teams will meet in the first leg on February 11 in Guingamp, where Brest are playing their home games this season due to their Stade Francis-Le Ble not meeting UEFA standards.
Brest, who lost 3-0 to Real Madrid earlier in the week, could not prevent PSG from extending their unbeaten streak to 14 matches in all competitions.
Bradley Barcola played a key role in PSG’s opening goal, delivering a through ball for Dembele to score just before the half-hour mark. After the break, Brest fought back, with Del Castillo striking a brilliant low shot to level the score early in the second half.
However, PSG regained the lead through Dembele before he completed his hat-trick with a delightful pass from Lee Kang-in. Ajorque pulled one back for Brest with a fantastic strike, but Ramos made sure of the win with a brace in the final minutes.
With Monaco facing Auxerre and Lille hosting Saint-Etienne in other matches on Saturday, Brest remain in eighth place, just four points outside the European qualification spots for next season.
