Chairman of the Kenya African National Union (KANU), Gideon Moi was conspicuously absent at the Azimio Deputy Presidential selection panel on Monday.
Moi’s press secretary, Joseph Towett disclosed to the press that, that the Senator representing Baringa County, will be backing out to put his weight behind Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
The interview, which commenced Monday, May 9, will continue till tomorrow Tuesday, May 10.
The much anticipated Kenya’s elections set for August 9, has been characterised by a lot of controversies among top contenders.
The growing tension has recently worsened with the indecision of who should be Raila Odinga’s running mate in the presidential election.
The interview with the Raila Odinga’s vetting committee will determine who, among the 12 successful candidates previously shortlisted, will eventually emerge as his deputy president and running mate.
So far, a few of the already interviewed persons have expressed optimism of a positive outcome. Kalonzo Musyoka remains a top choice in this, a lot of other candidates are massively backing him up.
