Nhlanhla “Lux” Dlamini, a member of Operation Dudula, has been granted a R1500 bail in his housebreaking and malicious damage to property case.
Magistrate Ruby Mathys also ordered him to surrender his passport and stop communicating with the case’s complainant. Although his surname was known as Dlamini all along, documents revealed that it is Mohlaoli.
Dlamini has been ordered to hand over his passport and not to make contact with the complainant.
As part of his bail requirements he was instructed: “Do not send anybody there. Do not communicate with electronic means, telephone, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, whatever you can think of. You are not supposed to communicate with this complainant if there is any complaint about that the court may inquire about that if the court finds you have breached that condition your bail may be canceled.”
Recall, on Friday, March 25, News Central reported that security forces arrested Dlamini with the Operation Dudula Agitator spending the night in detention.
Operation Dudula, his organisation, has been fighting unauthorised foreign nationals throughout the country.
Support for the organisation has been growing among South Africans who feel left out of governance. There are fears that the efforts would spark a new wave of xenophobic violence in the country. The case has been postponed to 27 May.
