Guinean midfielder, Amadou Diawara, got his name on the scoresheet as Jose Mourinho led Roma to a 10-0 victory in his first game in charge.

The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham head coach was appointed to oversee Roma’s return to the Champions League in May. The Portuguese, however, began work with his new side last week and hosted lower Italian-league side Montecatini at the Trigoria training ground on Thursday.

Borja Mayoral bagged a hat-trick, and Carles Perez, Gianluca Mancini (not the same coach as Italy’s Euro 2020 champion), Nicolo Zaniolo, Nicola Zalewski and Amadou Diawara also scored.

Diawara, a 23-year-old, joined Roma in 2019 after previously playing for Lega Pro side San Marino (2014–2015); Italy’s Bologna (2015–2016) and Napoli (2016–2019). He has made 40 appearances for Roma, scoring two goals.

Diawara debuted for Guinea in a 2–0 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification win over Rwanda national football team on 12 October 2018.

However, the Guinean’s days at Roma seem to be numbered as reports from England say the midfield ace has been offered to Arsenal for €12million. There are indications also that Wolverhampton Wanderers could land a big upgrade to their midfield with Diawara’s signing.

Diawara has three years remaining on his current deal at Roma, having signed a five-year contract with the Giallorossi.
