Dineo and Solo Exchange Secret Nuptials

Dineo and Solo

It looks like the secret celebrity wedding trend is here to stay, with actress Dineo Moeketsi and her rapper beau Solo being the latest couple to tie the knot in a private ceremony in Lanseria, Johannesburg. The couple has joined the likes of Nigerian musicians Adekunle Gold and Simi, and actress Zainab Balogun and Dikko Nwachukwu in having wedding ceremonies tucked away from the prying eyes of the press and social media.

29-year-old “The Queen” actress Moeketsi has been dating rapper Solo, real name Zothile Langa, for six years. Their relationship has been extremely public; as they appear at events together and feature on each other’s social media pages, each with hundreds of thousands of followers.

The hush-hush ceremony which took place on Saturday was attended by both family and close celebrity friends, including Thando Thabethe, Rami Chuene, L-Tido and Kwesta to name a few.

“It’s very rare to find relationships that last this long in the entertainment industry because there’s so much going on and people’s egos sometimes get in the way of their relationships.

“But Dineo and Solo proved that a relationship can work despite the fact that they are both in show business. Their love for each other is unwavering, which is why they both have the support of their families,” said a friend of the couple on condition of anonymity.

The backlash and controversy that ensues when celebrity relationships and marriages do not work out has deterred many couples from sharing details about them with their fans and followers. Most recently, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and his Ugandan socialite partner who also mothered his child, Zari Hassan, were in the news for publically accusing each other of misgivings that may have led to the end of their extremely public romance. These experiences and the stir they cause online has led many couples to keep their relationships offline.
