DisCos Work to Restore Power After Nationwide Outage

Nigeria’s Electricity Supply Dips Despite Revenue Growth

Power distribution companies have initiated load recovery measures after the national grid experienced another collapse on Saturday.

According to data from the Nigerian System Operator’s portal (niggrid.org), the grid showed a record of zero megawatts (MW) as of 8:16 am today.

The national grid verified through its official social media account, X, that seven of the nation’s eleven electricity distribution companies had no load allocation.

However, Ndidi Mbah, the spokesperson for the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), confirmed that power had been reinstated after its engineers fixed a damaged substation at Jebba, Kwara State.

This marked the third collapse in a month, resulting in total blackouts reported in multiple states.
