The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has refuted social media rumours that prospective corps members should go to state secretariats to pick up their call-up numbers.
Caroline Embu, the NYSC Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, urged the public to disregard these assertions in a statement released on Tuesday, stating that they were not made by the Scheme.
She stated that the Prospective Corps Members‘ individual dashboards and the Scheme’s officially sanctioned social media platforms are the means of communication between the two parties.
According to the statement, “the National Youth Service Corps Management has taken notice of false information being spread by some nefarious individuals, asserting that prospective corps members who have not yet received call-up numbers should go to the state secretariats of the Scheme for this purpose.
“To be clear, all prospective corps members who have not yet received their call-up numbers are encouraged to visit the NYSC social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, and Threads) for updates, as well as to be patient and keep checking their dashboards.”
