Popular Nigerian award winning disc jockey, DJ Xclusive, welcomed baby girl yesterday.

The DJ was born Rotimi Alakija on 16th October 1980, but better known as DJ Xclusive. He is a Nigerian disc jockey, record producer and recording artist.

Rotimi Alakija was born in the UK to Nigerian parents. At an early age, he moved back to Nigeria to pursue a high school education at King’s College, Lagos. Rotimi Alakija moved back to the UK to study Physics and Computer Science at Reading University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. He later studied Financial Computing at Brunel University London.

DJ Xclusive started his professional disc jockey career in 2003 by performing at various night clubs, including Aura Mayfair, Penthouse, Funky Buddha and Jalouse. During the course of his career, DJ Xclusive has performed with acts like Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Mario Winans, Brick and Lace, Nas and Fat Joe.

At the 2010 edition of the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, held in the United States, DJ Xclusive won World Best DJ. He was nominated for Best DJ at the 2011 edition of the Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television Awards (BEFFTA Awards). He was also featured at the 2013 Big Brother House Party.

In 2011, DJ Xclusive became the resident DJ for CoolFM 96.9 and also joined Empire Mates Entertainment as Wizkid’s official DJ. DJ Xclusive released a single “I’m Xclusive” alongside renowned UK-Nigerian artist Mo Eazy.

He is the nephew of Nigerian billionaire Folorunsho Alakija, a 69 year old Nigerian billionaire businesswoman who is involved in the fashion, oil, real estate and printing industries. She is the group managing director of The Rose of Sharon Group which consists of The Rose of Sharon Prints & Promotions Limited, Digital Reality Prints Limited and the executive vice-chairman of Famfa Oil Limited. She also has a majority stake in DaySpring Property Development company. Alakija is ranked by Forbes as the richest woman in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $1 billion. As of 2015, she is listed as the second most powerful woman in Africa after Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the 87th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes.

Dj Xclusive married Tinuke Ogundero in 2015 and has just recently welcomed baby girl as he took to his Instagram page on Thursday, September 4th 2020 to make the announcement.

The 39 year old sharing a cute photo of him carrying his new born, the DJ wrote; “Her little fingers stole my HEART..” welcome to the world my precious “AVERY” #MyDaughter 🍼👶#LittleX 😉 #Avery @averyalakija 😍❤”

His baby girl, named Avery already has an official Instagram where a post was made stating that the DJ would be releasing a new single dedicated to his daughter Avery. The post’s caption said; “Daddy’s @djxclusive83 new single is out tomorrow and he’s dedicating it to me. He named the single after me “Avery” ~ I love you daddy 😘 #Avery”

The DJ also made the announcement on twitter with the same picture and caption.
