In addition, approximately 50 individuals, including three American citizens associated with the coup, have been arrested.

According to Africa News, gunfire broke out in Kinshasa around 4 am, as assailants targeted the presidency in the city centre, with Christian Malanga allegedly orchestrating the assault.

The deceased individual had previously shared a live video on Facebook, showcasing the interior of the presidential palace and issuing threats against Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi.

Christian Malanga Musumari, aged 41, is a Congolese from the diaspora and is a former soldier who resided in the United States of America before standing for election as a member of the opposition in the DRC’s 2011 legislative elections.

Regarding the attack on President Félix Tshisekedi, the president’s whereabouts during the incident remain unknown. Simultaneously, there was an assault on the residence of Vital Kamerhe, a prominent parliamentarian poised to assume the role of the next Speaker.

Moto Muhima has confirmed that two guards and one assailant lost their lives during the attack. Furthermore, the repercussions of the assault extended beyond the borders of the DRC, with reports indicating that a shell fired from Kinshasa landed in Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo, resulting in injuries to several individuals.
