A drone launched from Lebanon struck the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in northern Israel on Saturday. The attack targeted Netanyahu’s private home in Caesarea, but fortunately, the prime minister and his family were not present at the time, according to a statement from his office.
The Israeli military reported that three drones were launched from Lebanon. Two were intercepted, but the third hit a building in Caesarea. No casualties have been reported following the incident.
This attack comes during the ongoing cross-border conflict between Israeli forces and Hezbollah since the escalation of the Gaza war in October. Last month, Israel intensified its offensive in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah leaders, including the group’s head, Hassan Nasrallah, in a series of airstrikes and ground invasions. Recent Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon have claimed over 1,500 lives and displaced approximately 1.2 million people.
