Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has faced heavy criticism for discrediting a church member’s testimony during a Sunday service on April 14.
Anyim Veronica Nnenna, the woman in question, testified about being the first in her family to graduate from a tertiary institution with a “Bsc. In Law” from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
Enenche however, interrupted her speech mid-air, alleging that her testimony was false, and ordered her off the pulpit.
Following the viral video, netizens have dug up pictures showing Anyim in her convocation gown, and a list showing her name among NOUN graduates who convocated on Saturday, April 13 with LLB in Law.
Nigerians have demanded an apology from Enenche for publicly humiliating Anyim without verifying her claims.
Despite the evidence surfacing, Enenche and Dunamis church have not issued any statement regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, Anyim has broken her silence on the Sunday incident. She wrote on her Facebook page on Monday:
“It’s disheartening because I couldn’t speak English like lawyers. I was labelled a liar for mistakenly saying B.Sc instead of LLB. Actually, I graduated with a Third Class at NOUN.
“The rejected stone can become the cornerstone. We’re reminded not to look down on anyone.
“U can’t imagine what I endured throughout the service. How shattered I must have felt to be disgraced by my spiritual leader in such a manner?
“I am no. 2262 on the list.
“I Vera deserves better now,” she wrote.
