Dynamite Explosion in Rivers Confirmed by Police

The explosion of dynamite around the location of Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt has been confirmed by the Rivers State Police Command.

During a live television program, the state Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, confirmed the incident and assured that an investigation was underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the explosion.

CP Disu stressed his impartiality in the ongoing conflicts within Rivers State and promised to uphold the truth.

He also mentioned that the Commissioner of Police in charge of Onne Port recently seized a significant amount of firearms, which is currently under investigation.

CP Disu also revealed that an unidentified militia member, seen in a viral video threatening to take over local government secretariats, is wanted by the Rivers State Police Command after failing to comply with police investigations. The individual is allegedly part of a protest by politicians in the Obio/Akpor local government area who support the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
