During a bilateral meeting in Beijing, Nigerian President and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Chairman Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasized Africa’s significant investment opportunities. Speaking with Chinese Premier Li Qiang at the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), Tinubu highlighted Africa’s dynamic population, productive economy, and abundant natural resources as key factors for growth and development.
Tinubu praised the FOCAC platform for fostering a mutually beneficial partnership between Africa and China, calling for a continued strategic focus on collaboration to ensure sustained progress for both sides. He expressed his optimism about the partnership, which aligns with the shared interests of investment and development.
The meeting marked Tinubu’s participation in the ninth FOCAC summit, where he appreciated the warm reception from the Chinese government. Premier Li reaffirmed China’s commitment to working with Nigeria under the comprehensive strategic partnership recently established between the two nations.
