Edo Decides: Voting Begins with Early Arrival of Election Materials

Reports say voting began early as the materials arrived at Egware Primary School, Ujiogba Ward II units 2, 3, and 11 in Esan West LGA of Edo State, and voters were excited to cast their votes.

As reported by Vanguard, a voter named Pa Robert Eguekagbon, 76, mentioned that the materials arrived before 8 a.m., and he was satisfied with how smooth the process was.

He said, “Materials came early about 8 am. I came and was accredited and I have voted. It was good and smooth.”

An Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)  official, name witheld, mentioned that the process is running smoothly without any network issues, and all the machines are functioning perfectly.
The voters arrived early and behaved in an organised manner, with senior citizens queuing up and some searching for their names in the voter registry as it began to rain.

INEC reports that accreditation and voting commenced at 8:30 am today at Polling Unit 002, Registration Area 2, Iguobazuwa, Ovia South East Local Government Area.

The commission said that accreditation and voting also began at exactly 8:30 am at Polling Unit 005, Registration Ward 05, Idumebo primary school, Esan Central Local Government Area.

Voting has also begun in at Unit 063, Opens Space, by Power Line, Oredo LGA

Meanwhile, in Ward 4, Oredo LGA, Benin, voters defied the rains and came out en masse to exercise their civil rights.
