Security measures have been implemented at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Edo State in preparation for the collation of results from Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
Armed security personnel, including stern-looking police and military officers, have been positioned around the collation centre with armoured tanks.
Following the completion of voting, sorting, and counting in most polling centres in the closely contested election, the collation of results from the state’s 18 local governments is expected to commence at any moment.
Over 93 per cent of the ballot results have been uploaded on INEC’s result viewing portal iREV.
