Impeccable sources within the commission confirmed that Ishaku was taken into custody at his Abuja residence in the early hours of Friday.

When contacted, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed the development to our correspondent but declined further comment.

Ishaku’s arrest comes amidst an ongoing face-off between the commission and the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, who is accused of misappropriating N80.2 billion. A fresh 16-count charges were filed against Bello at an FCT High Court.
