According to reports making the rounds, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Greece will jointly submit a bid for the 2030 World Cup.

The 2030 World Cup and the 2032 Olympic Games will be held in Egypt, according to Ashraf Sobhi, minister of youth and sports of Egypt.

Even last year, there were rumors that Egypt and Morocco may file a joint application to host the 2030 World Cup, but neither country acknowledged them.

The latest information indicates that Saudi Arabia and Greece will join Egypt in another combined attempt to host the World Cup.

The bid is anticipated to be made public in the coming weeks, with Saudi Arabia serving as the “principal partner,” which would entail support for and funding of infrastructure expenditures in Egypt and Greece.

The event would once again be held in the winter to avoid the sweltering summer heat, according to the article, should one of the three countries succeed in winning the hosting rights.

The inclusion of three confederations, which may potentially attract support from Asia, Africa, and certain European nations, is reported to pose a major challenge to the combined proposal by Spain and Portugal, which is supported by UEFA.

It should be noted that Egypt submitted a candidacy for the 2010 World Cup, but earned no votes, placing third behind South Africa (10) and Morocco (10) (14).
