Egypt, Jordan Discuss Boosting Bilateral Trade Ties (News Central TV)

Ahmed Samir, the minister of commerce and industry for Egypt, and Youssef al-Shamali, the minister for industry, trade, and supplies for Jordan, talked about methods to strengthen bilateral ties in the areas of business, industry, trade, and investment.

The latest economic developments on the international stage, as well as any challenges that have arisen in this regard, were discussed by the two parties during a meeting held on the sidelines of the 110th session of the Arab Economic and Social Council, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Trade and Industry on Sunday.

The Egyptian minister of trade also highlighted the strong political ties between the leaderships of Egypt and Jordan, as well as a trilateral industrial partnership involving Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq as well as a multilateral industrial partnership involving Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, and Bahrain.

According to the statement, the summit where the bilateral ties were discussed also provided a platform for the need to remove any barriers standing in the way of Egyptian-Jordanian trade.

In order to serve the interests of Egyptians and Jordanians and accelerate economic growth rates in both countries, Samir emphasized the significance of utilising important Egyptian-Jordanian economic potentials in carrying out joint ventures.

He mentioned that the amount of commerce between Jordan and Egypt reached $1.09 Billion in 2021.

The Jordanian minister, for his part, reaffirmed the desire of his nation to strengthen cooperation links with Egypt and to activate all bilateral agreements that span a wide range of cooperation fields, particularly in light of the current global economic issues.
