Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly has discussed with the Director-General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), Marwan al-Ghanem on the development projects in the Sinai Peninsula.
Mostafa Madbouly congratulated Ghanem on his new position, praising the relations between Egypt and Kuwait. He pointed out the need for the Egyptian government to boost cooperation with the Fund, one of Egypt’s most important partners in development.
He emphasized on the government’s priority development projects, like the Sinai Peninsula development program, which includes 54 projects, amounting to $3.6 billion since the Fund launched its cooperation with Egypt in 1980.
The development projects in the Sinai come within the framework of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to support efforts to develop the Peninsula, invest in infrastructure, and improve services provided to citizens, said Madbouly.
He noted that these projects have already contributed to changing lives in the Peninsula.
Madbouly hoped the partnership would deepen with the Fund through new development projects.
Ghanem conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah to the Egyptian government.
He was happy to visit Egypt to launch development projects resulting from the cooperation to achieve development.
He also pointed out that the KFAED is a crucial partner for Egypt, emphasizing the volume of work and achievements in megaprojects.
He reviewed the areas of work of the Fund in Egypt during the last stage, stressing its keenness to participate in new development projects to meet Egypt’s aspirations.
